The Biigewin Youth Program empowers Aboriginal male youth through a holistic and cultural approach that instills traditional Aboriginal values to address the emotional, physical, mental and spiritual needs of Aboriginal Youth.
This program will focus on the clan system of Aboriginal people as well as mainstream approaches. The Biigewin Program works with families as well as service providers taking a wraparound approach to create a holistic environment. Positive interaction among peers is essential for healthy growth. Recreational activities ensure this growth can occur in a setting that promotes healthy living.
Program Objectives:
- Decrease Aboriginal male youth involvement with the Justice System.
- Empower Aboriginal male youth to develop pro-social competencies, attitudes and behaviors, thereby reducing the risk of involvement with the Justice System.
- Increase positive alternatives and solutions for Aboriginal male youth.
